Sandra Madureira has a doctor´s degree in Applied Linguistics from the the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUCSP). She works as a full professor at the Department of Linguistics and at the Graduate Program in Applied Linguistics. She is the coordinator of the Phonetics Lab (Laboratório Integrado de Análise Acústica e Cognição – LIAAC) at PUCSP, the leader of the Speech Studies Research Group (Grupo de Pesquisa em Estudos sobre a Fala) certified by the CNPq, editor of the Intercâmbio Journal (PUCSP) and of the Journal of Speech Sciences (LBASS). She carries out research on Experimental Phonetics. Her main research interests are: speech expressivity; sound symbolism; voice quality; L2 sound acquisition; speech styles; vocal and visual prosody; rhotics; paralinguistic and extralinguistic features; speech disorders. Kinds of analysis undertaken: acoustic, respiratory, facial and ultrasound analyses.
