Patrick Doty is a Distinguished staff member at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA. His research interests are sensor materials and devices for threat detection, including semiconductors and luminescent materials for radiation and chemical detection. Prior to joining Sandia he was Principal Materials Scientist 1991 - 1994 with Digirad Corporation where he reported first CdZnTe nuclear detectors, developed CdZnTe array processing for gamma ray imagers, and reported the first CZT strip detectors, pixel arrays, and multichannel gamma spectrometers.
