I am a marine ecologist with broad interests on processes regulating the dynamics of populations and communities in coastal ecosystems. My main work lies at the bentho-pelagic interface, and includes the supply-side ecology of marine invertebrates, the ecology of rocky shores, and the functional ecology of structured benthic habitats (e.g. algal canopies, seagrass meadows). I have also a long-standing interest in the biology of decapod crustaceans, and have more recently investigated how climate change and the spread of invasive species may affect whole-ecosystem functioning.
