Luisa Consiglieri is a scientist, who is by formation an expert in mathematics. Her scientific activity has mainly been related to the classical questions in the Partial Differential Equations (PDE) theory, i.e. the existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions of initial boundary value problems. Nevertheless, her research interests span a variety of areas in differential equations such as continuum mechanics, in particular fluid mechanics (with emphasis in non-Newtonian flows and friction effects at the boundary) and heat transfer (with emphasis in radiative effects at the boundary), and their interconnection with other fields as in particular electromagnetism and electrochemistry. She taught at the Faculty of Sciences of University of Lisbon from 1987 until her retirement in April 2009. In 2019, she earned the Bologna Degree/Bachelor of Science of Geological and Mining Engineering. At the present, her concern goes to mathematically model and to analytically solve the real world problems that involve thermal effects.
