Massimiliano Saccone is graduated in Modern Letters and specialized in Library Sciences at Sapienza University of Rome. Currently he works at the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Heritage of CNR and he's the head of the Functional Unit (UF) - Research infrastructures and scientific programming. He worked as librarian and information & knowledge management specialist at Ufficio Sistemi informativi e Documentali of CNR. He was the responsible for Legal deposit and Open Access institutional activities. He has participated actively in several national and international projects on Information and Knowledge Management and digital libraries (Digital Preservation Europe – DPE, Science & Technology Digital Library, E-Government, Italian Network National Bibliography Number – NBN, etc.). His main interests are in research infrastructures, scholarly communications, open science, policy research and program evaluation , research evaluation systems, digital preservation, metadata quality control, research information systems interoperability.
