My research focuses on the development of novel materials for sustainable processes, with an emphasis on fundamental structure-performance relationships. I aim to understand in depth the relationships between the atomic-scale structure and properties of functional materials. By applying state-of-the-art synchrotron and laboratory-based techniques, I seek to unveil the structure of materials at different lengths (Ångstrom-to-micron) and time scales under working conditions (i.e. using so-called operando methods). This approach will provide insight into how a material works and ultimately allows the atomic-level engineering of new high-performance materials.
