I, Ângela Marisa Cardoso Fernandes am a psychotherapist and a forensic expert.
I hold a master's degree in Psychology and a PhD in Applied Psychology from the University of Minho, Portugal. My PhD thesis was on "Human trafficking in Portugal: From perceptions to victims' support". Before my PhD, I worked in social reintegration and community intervention.
At the moment I am an Assistant Professor and the Erasmus+ Departmental Coordinator for Criminology and Psychology, of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at the University Fernando Pessoa.
At the University of Minho, I was part of the Research Group in Psychological Evaluation and in the Research Unit Victims, Offenders and Justice System of the School of Psychology. In addition, I have experience in collaborating with research teams on various projects: psychological assessment, stalking, sexual abuse, domestic violence, human trafficking, the use of virtual reality in psychology, and as a researcher in the field of victimology.
I am a dynamic, efficient, and reliable professional in crime analysis (context, offenders and victims), with international practice in quantitative and qualitative research, project management and networking.
I am the author and co-author of publications at the national and international levels in the area of Victimology, with a particular focus on human trafficking.
Within the IPS_Innovative prison systems, I was assigned to the Rehabilitation and Reintegration portfolio, under which I collaborated on several projects (regarding project management and applications and research).
