Marta has a graduation in Anthropology by Nova University of Lisbon and holds a master's degree in Applied Cultural Analysis by the University of Copenhagen. Since 2015 she has been working with refugees, primarily at a community support center for refugees and asylum seekers in Copenhagen and later on in a refugees reception center in Lisbon and in academic research in both Denmark and Portugal. Her current interests fall on the uses and resources that refugees make of digital technologies and in the policies of reception and integration of refugees in Portugal either in the State's and refugees' perspective. She has a Fellowship for Doctoral Research by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) for the project "Identity, Emotions and Well-being. Experiences of processes of reception and integration of refugees and asylum seekers in Portugal" (2021.08196.BD). Marta is also a PhD integrated student in CRIA - Center for Research in Anthropology at ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon.
