Gábor Mészáros is an associated professor at University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria. During his PhD and early postdoc career he was working on estimation of breeding values for longevity in multiple species and for country scale evaluations. He was also involved in the re-design and improvement of the Survival Kit software, widely used for survival analysis. Eventually he has shifted his attention towards high density SNP genotype data, more precisely towards understanding the diversity of populations and architecture of traits based on genomic data. He was a lecturer in a number of post-graduate courses targeted on usage of both survival and SNP genotype data. His teaching portfolio also includes multiple courses focused on genetic diversity and molecular animal genetics at the university.
