Dr. Miriam Menzel is Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands) and head of the lab for computational scattered light imaging. She studied physics at RWTH Aachen University (Germany) and Imperial College London (UK), before joining the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine at Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany). After completing her PhD on polarization microscopy simulations of brain tissue in 2018, she changed her focus to the development of new light microscopy techniques for brain research, and worked as visiting postdoctoral scholar at the Stanford School of Medicine (USA). In October 2022, she joined the Department of Imaging Physics at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands) as Assistant Professor. The Menzel lab exploits the scattering of visible light to resolve complex fiber structures in biological tissues.
