Dr. Claudio Meneses is an Associate Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is a Bachelor of Agriculture Sciences graduate with an orientation in Horticultural from the Faculty of Agricultural Science at Universidad de Chile. In 2011, he obtained a doctorate in Systems Agriculture, Forestry, and Food from Lleida University and CRAG (UAB-UB-IRTA-CSIC). From 2011 to 2021, he worked as a Professor and Principal Investigator in the Plant Genetic and Genomic Lab at the Center for Plant Biotechnology. He is the head of the Agrogenomics Lab at the FAIF/FCB at PUC and the Principal Investigator of the Millennium Nucleus for the Development of Super Adaptable Plants (MN-SAP). He expects to identify candidate genes and molecular markers associated with abiotic stress tolerance and fruit quality traits, especially in peach, grape, sweet cherry, and avocado. For this, we are integrating omics data obtained from DNA-Seq, RNA-seq, and Whole Genome Bisulphite-seq strategies, among others.
