Dr. Anagnostis Argiriou is Full Prof. at the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition of the
Aegean University and former Deputy Director at the Institute of Applied Biosciences -
Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (INAB-CERTH). He got his Doctor of Biological
Sciences degree cum laude in 1996 and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Medical
Biotechnology in 2001 in Italy. From 2001 to 2003 he worked at CEINGE Biotecnologie
Avanzate in Italy mainly to implement and improve human biodiagnostic protocols. In
2005 he joined the Institute of Agrobiotechnology in a Post Doctoral position and in 2006
became researcher. From 2006 to 2016 he collaborated as external scientist with the
Laboratory of Lipid Research and Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases of the 2nd
Paediatric Clinic at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In his current position in the
Institute of Applied Biosciences he is responsible for the Food Sciences and Nutrition
Sector. As Professor at the University of the Aegean he teaches lessons on Food Industry
and Innovation Management
