I am since 2010 a doctoral researcher at the Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources (CIBIO), of the Univ. of Porto (Portugal), where I currently hold a contract as an Assistant Researcher. After completing my graduation (“Licenciatura”) at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA, Technical University of Lisbon) (1994-2000), I worked as a researcher and environmental consultant at the private company ERENA, SA (1999-2004). Thereafter, I got a FCT grant to complete my Ph.D. in Forestry Sciences (2004-2010) at ISA. After completed my FCT grant I returned to ERENA (2008-2010) before I started my current position BIOPOLIS-CIBIO. My main research interests are in the area of global change ecology with a focus in Invasion Science, though I have developed relevant research in other fields of applied ecology, as in farmland ecology and biodiversity conservation. I have authored 75 publications in SCI journals, 5 more under review and several in preparation.
