I am a social scientist conducting research that explores vulnerability & resilience amid global changes, with a focus on marginalized groups in Southeast Asia. My research is based on my 20 years of experience as a dedicated international development professional, seven of which living and working in Southeast Asia.
I am committed to promoting sustainable equitable development using transdisciplinary, collaborative and participatory approaches. I am particularly passionate about increasing the resilience of marginalized populations, in particular: indigenous peoples, ethnic minorities, and women. During my career working with the UN and international research organizations, I initiated and led more than ten interdisciplinary research and scientific projects in the fields of climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, agriculture and development, and natural resource management. My accomplishments over the years have focused on integrating social equity, and valorizing the use of local & indigenous knowledge, into programming and projects.
