My research is currently focused on marine ecology and physiology, with special emphasis on invertebrates and trophic interactions. I'm also actively working on marine biodiversity issues, particularly biodiversity valuation and bioprospecting. I'm further focused on applied research, such as marine natural products and the pharmaceutical industry, and aquaculture of invertebrate species.
My goals are to provide insights into functional diversity, use large marine data-sets to effectively support decision making, enlighten the role of marine biodiversity and food-webs to ecosystem functioning and services, and ultimately link technical and scientific productivity with decision making towards Ocean conservation.
