I am an epidemiologist, currently involved in a European Union (EU) H2020 project - EXHAUSTION which studies the cardiopulmonary health outcomes attributable to climate change, projecting these outcomes for Europe in the future, with special focus on the benefits of adaptation and mitigation measures. Within this project, I analyse the short- and long-term effect of extreme temperatures and the effect modification by air pollution on different cardiopulmonary health outcomes across Europe at city, small area and individual cohort levels, also analysing the sociodemographic, geographical, behavioural, and lifestyle factors that serve as effect modifiers at each level. I work with Europe-wide large datasets, and together with data analysis also design analysis plans.
Apart from data analysis, I am well versed in scientific and health communications. Meanwhile, I also have a keen interest on the sexual and reproductive health, especially in the lower and middle income countries and am also engaged partly in qualitative as well as mixed-methods studies in this field.
