Luke is a Soil Greenhouse Gas scientist with the Plant Soil Interactions group at UKCEH Lancaster. His research focuses on greenhouse gas fluxes from the terrestrial biosphere. He is interested in the nutrient dynamics associated with crops, including nutrient use efficiency and its improvement through the utilisation of enhanced efficiency fertilisers. Luke's research also extends to investigating the use of biomass crops for energy production and their implications for soil health and greenhouse gas emissions. He utilises a mix of field and lab-based approaches in his research.
